We are fathers who raised our sons through the Champion Tribes experience, and we are sons who are products of fathers who intentionally engaged in our growth. From both sides of the equation, we know first-hand the lifelong impacts these experiences create in the relationship between a father and son.
Meet Our Team
David Salyers
David Salyers has spent over 35 years in the Chick-fil-A Marketing Department and currently serves as VP of Growth and Hospitality. Having worked at Chick-fil-A his entire career, he has seen the principles of servant leadership and compassion play out in the growth of more than 2,300 Chick-fil-A restaurants around the country. In his 2016 book, Remarkable, which he co-wrote with Dr. Randy Ross, he imparts leadership lessons that can transform one's workplace culture. David is the co-founder of Champion Tribes, serves on numerous boards, and has helped launch several start-ups and nonprofit organizations. He and his wife Lynn have been married for 28 years and have three children together.
Jeff Henderson
Jeff is the lead pastor of Gwinnett Church, a campus of North Point Ministries in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to this, Jeff served as the Lead Pastor for eight years at Buckhead Church, North Point’s first multi-site location. Before serving as a pastor, Jeff worked in marketing and advertising including leading Chick-fil-A’s sports marketing and beverage partnerships for six years. Jeff is the co-founder of Champion Tribes, Launch Youniversity, Pastor Circle and Preaching Rocket which has helped coach thousands of pastors. Jeff and his wife Wendy have been married 20 years and have a daughter Jesse and son Cole.
Nick Salyers
Nick was part of the founding tribe with his father, David, over ten years ago. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia where he competed as Division I athlete on the swim team. During Nick’s senior year, he qualified for the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials in the 100 meter backstroke. Nick is a co-founder of Champion Tribes and the co-author of Collegiate: 7 Big Ideas to Make College Awesome.
Paul Hernandez
Paul is from San Antonio, Texas, and attended the University of Georgia where he studied Finance and minored in Spanish. During college, Paul served as a Wyldlife leader to middle school students in Oconee County, Georgia, where his passion for mentoring and developing young people was kindled. Paul now lives in Atlanta, Georgia, where he actively cheers on the San Antonio Spurs.
